HARD SENSUALISM
“Hard Sensualism” is a continuation of many of the concepts explored in “First Convergence”, but in this body of work I began to add layers to the narrative underlying the basic framework of minimal cubes. As this body of artwork progressed, I began to explore additional ways to express new dimensions – conceptually, physically and personally. The “front piece” for this series, Hydranx, is a loose interpretation of a model of a 4-dimensional cube (also known as a tesseract or hypercube) created in 3 dimensions . This is mirrored in several other works, including Red Nude Male, White Nude Edge, and Paraffin Square. A few of the other pieces also used wrapping to imply additional dimensions by creating new shapes that are not contained within a single surface, such as Silver Break and Candelo or by extending beyond the confines of the cube itself, such as in Midmare. Yellow Lucida and Silver Break also hint at the possibility of folding into additional dimensions.
